Historical records typically focus on the lives of industrial men while ignoring or misrepresenting those of women. In the early 1900s, women working in Connecticut’s textile industry were often mistreated, misrepresented, or completely excluded from the record. This exhibit explores the lives of female workers at American Thread in Willimantic, Connecticut, by examining objects they used in their daily lives.
